irrubescos

hey sorry I'm new but i have a 10 gallon tank setup and i was going to get a couple dwarf puffer for it, but then i just found out about the irrubescos and read all i could and stuff, so i juts gotta know do they have the same awesome personality that dps and most puffers have hehe I'm noob to puffers

For puffer noobs, I would recommend DPs. In general, if you have healthy ones, they're hardier than the other types. Try your hand with them, then if you like them, try some of the others.

You know that there is a high probability of what ever puff your getting will peck off those guppies right? Mine havn't touched the endlers I have in one of my tanks, but still.

Most puffs aside from lurkers are pretty active, even some lurking species zip around the tank. The more 'active' the decore in the tank is the more active the puff. If the tank is boring the puffs get bored and don't explore as much. I end up changing decor around in my 33 planted because my irrubs get pretty lazy and territorial if I don't

Sorry badger for nicking the thread
Anyone got a suggestion of tankmates for the irrubesco? Was going to buy some Tigerbarbs or some Harlequins but I'm afraid they are to greedy and fast when it comes to food so the irrubescos couldn't keep up.
One more question, is there any food that can substitute snails, was thinking for keeping their beak in good shape.

irrubesco IMO do not make good tankmates. As with the majority of puffers they are best kept alone.
IME they are very shy and timid creatures, only venturing out in the pitch black of night.
I found out to my cost that they are very territorial and have wide areas they protect. Anything that is within sight of that area IS picked off.
