yep they are doing fine together for week now no sign of bite mark or tail rot, except when it come to feeding time they can get a little mean especially "Puffy".

I am sorry to say but those fahakas are relatively young. In a few months, one or both would be dead. They get along fine when younger but when grown up cannot tolerate each other.

Dud you read the article stickied at the top of this forum on this? Written by a fellow that has been keeping puffers for 50 years. Please seperate these fish!!!

Actually I've been wondering something. If you remember the experience of Dmitry Muratov, he raised a group (8) of Juvenile Fahaka puffers in a large tank (240g) and while he reported bite marks on all the Fahakas he didn't have fatalities. He also fed heavily every other day though. In his article he does regret not being able to house them singly though.

IMO you could probably raise two in a 300g tank and maybe escape some of the problems associated with keeping two adult Fahakas together due to the fact that they start off as juveniles and get used to the presence of the other guy in the tank.

However, at full adulthood all bets may be off due to territorial problems that would likely develop.

I wouldn't recommend keeping two together to anyone, but it can't be said to be impossible - just extremely difficult with a good possibility of failure.

Yea, they're wild animals. They will fight if its in their instincts and blood... You can't change that.

AND THOSE PICS ARE HUGE!!! can't hardly see it...

Experts wonder how they even get close enough to each other to breed in the wild, w/o killing each other!

That tank looks a little small too, and is that a plec I can see in the 3rd or 4th photo down?

You're taking some real risks...
