Good Plants?

What are some good plants for BW? Maybe there are some posts I don't know about explaining this? But if someone could help me out, tell me how to go about growing plants in BW, I'd appreciate it. :30:

I have had luck with java moss and java fern, and if you have the space, which most don't, then mangroves work.
The java's work best in low BW, not high. Silk and plastic have really flourished for me as well.

lol, plastics do grow well huh? but mangrove plants? any pics of these things you could get me so I could ID all good ones in my LFS?

Mangrove are ginormous roots, not really plants per se, and they tend to need an open-top aquarium. Thus Lisa saying "if you have the space, which most don't". Just google them.

Just go with mangroves but be warned they gre pretty fast and pretty huge. Once established roots can be tank busters.

Java is very hit and miss. IME I've had it grow in some tanks and not in others. IMO go fake all the way.

There are hundreds of plants on that site.
That site is using the name 'Java' as a name, and not how we are.
The plants you can use are as I posted: Java Moss, and Java Fern.

That's why many/most go fake with BW.

Yeah. Its easier going fake since you have so many options. Unless your going to create a huge tank thats half land and half water then you could have mangroves etc. I believe there are a few mid end brackish macro algaes but I wouldn't keep them unless you have good lighting and have a good idea of what macros need.

A lot of the plants I've looked at, especially many mosses, say they can 'withstand many conditions'. This include BW maybe? also, I've seen F8 tanks with plants on this site before?

Java MOSS and Java Fern can survive in BW.

Christmas moss will not do well in BW so you can out rule that one.
