GSP with IPs?

I've had my GSP for a few weeks now, and after a week I started treating him for IPs. I followed the directions on the bottle, 5 drops twice a day. In the morning he would eat the drops, but in the evening at "feeding time" he would ignore them, so I just soaked his bloodworms in the medicine. After a week of medicating and a week of usual feeding, he's still skinny! Here are some pictures..

There are a few dark spots on his belly near his tail, but they were there when I got him. His fins were also quite battered when I brought him home, but now they are very full and pretty. I feed him bloodworms every day and ghost shrimp and crickets each about once a week. Now that I'm back from Austin I plan on going to the grocery store and getting some shell-on shrimp and other stuff that was suggested. I am also going to order snails very soon. Anyone have any ideas as to why he's still so skinny? :?

Um, these drops you are talking about... they don't happen to be the ones that 'solidify' in the water do they?
IME, with other fish, the product never worked. The more reliable products to use are levimasole (can be a pain to find) or prazipro. Levimsole is the more direct approach, you soak the puffs food in it. Prazi-pro you dose the tank with it. Theoretically dosing the tank for an internal issue will do little to nothing but it has worked wonders on fish that were exported.
