Any problem with flake eating by Figure 8?

So, I'm taking a risk and have created a mini community for my 29 gallon Figure 8 tank...really mini - one molly (the other one would bug my puffer until he bit at it...and he'd taken the entire upper lyre part of the tail - in contrast, the other molly goes nowhere near my puffer and has been fine) and now one young knight goby.
Hoover gets his snails, krill or whatever the entre of the day is, much to his annoyance, only every other day. However, the molly is a piggie and I've been feeding flake daily for the molly (and now for the new goby, too).
Hoover decided to sample the flake today, and apparently liked it because he ate flake bits while the others did to.
Any problems with this? Do you think it will help grind down his teeth?
Obviously, I'm not serious about the teeth thing...
