Hi
My F8 seeems to have a piece of mussel stuck in her teeth and looks a bit miserable. I gave her a few brine shrimp to chase around which she did and she ate a few but they didn't seem to dislodge anything!!! I will give her a couple of snails in the morning which may also do the job,
Any other ideas if they don't???

I have had to catch my fahaka to disloge a crab leg from his mouth. You might want to look into trimming his teeth.

I am going into town to buy clove oil tomorrow just in case!!! I have been watching her teeth and I didn't think they looked too long, it was after her dinner tonight I noticed the bit of white stuff stuck in her mouth.
I can't say as I am looking forwards to teeth clipping, she is a very skittish fish and I am terrified of upsetting her or her jumping out of the bowl of water!!!
Fingers crossed that the food dislodges itself !!

One of my F8s got a bit of argonite stuck in her teeth last night. I tried to catch her to remove it but she did a nose-dive into the substrate which, luckily, knocked it loose. She is definitely overdue for a trim.

I would get it out asap. I lost a DP to a piece of bloodworm.The first time I left it afew days to work its own way loose. I lost sight of him for a couple of days and when I found him a fungus had grown over the bloodworm and over part of his head.I had left it to late.When it happened to another DP I removed him from the tank in a very small container and removed the bloodworm with tweezers.He's fine today!

Well I bought the clove oil today and when i had got home she had dislodged the food herself

so crisis over. She is back to her normal self again today and begging for food more than usual, so hopefully I have escaped the dreaded clove oil on this occaision. Her teeth don't look so bad but I am going to try and persuade her to eat a few more snails, the little minx tends not to bother with them if she thinks she might get something else to eat and I often have to pick out untouched dead snails out of her tank.I do wish there were some brackish varietys of snails I could use for her ! She may have to go hungry for a day and see if she is more keen to eat them then
