Basic tips for a puffer dip/bath?

Any tips for a dip/bath for a fig8 that has an opaque white popped eye?

Rescued this bugger cuz he was fat and had nice fins, but had ich and a slightly cloudy eye. The salt and diatom filter have taken away the ich problem (at least visibly), but the eye has persisted and gotten worse. I've begun even more vigorous water changes and am using Melafix.

I bought Maracyn-Two and put some in a 1gallon hospital tank (bowl with airstone). Filled the bowl with tank water, added the Maracyn-Two, waited a few minutes, added the fig8. I let him sit for about an hour and then put him back in his tank.

This is the first day I've used this hospital tank + Maracyn tactic. Anyone have recommendations on if I am doing this correctly or if I should do this daily or something? Also, we assume it's probably best that I always use fresh tank water and fresh Maracyn rather than just using the hospital tank water from today for treatment tomorrow?

Perhaps for an antibiotic treatment, a bath wouldn't even help? Perhaps I need a larger hospital tank and to leave the fish in it for days?

Thanks guys 'n gals

I did a Hydrogen Peroxide dip once but I can't remember the dosage.
