My red congo puffer died on saturday , hecwas in a 55 gallon tank with no tank mates , temp 79-80, ammonia and nitrites 0 nitrates0.25 ppm. He was fine and esting and hunting well but Saturday morning he had brown strips and soots all over his body, he used to be a light beige color , then he started to spiral upand down the tank vertically, and puffed up , nothing happened and different from a normal morning , he then judt sat on top of the sand abd died a few hours later . Could anyone please tell me what happened? I got him about six weeks ago from my usual fish store, thank you

I had one that died 3 weeks after I purchased it. I cut it open and found a hard liver inside. It died of fatty liver disease probably because it was fed goldfish at the store I bought them from.
