I've had my baby GSP(named Squish) for about a month and I just noticed something about him.

He is still about 1.25'' long but grew quiet a bit since the day I got him. What I'm getting worried is that it seems his skin is getting darker. It used to be bright yellow-green but now it is more like brown-green except small portion of his head and back. Is this normal?

He was introduced to a newly cycled(w/ FW bio-spira) 30g tank about a week ago. He seems happy and well doing but the color is disturbing me. Oh yeah his belly is snow white.

A baby fish needs food. A 1.25" GSP is an infant. Perhaps daily feeding would be sufficient, but alternate day feefing for a baby is starving the fish. IMHO & IME that is very poor advice and I do not believe ever came from this site. Six days a week minimum is my feeding schedule until the fish is one-halff to two-thirds full size, then I shift to alternate days for the hunter predators. As they near full size. meal size or frequency may be adjusted again, depending on the particular fish and in part on its activity level.

when a fish is that young, i would feed once per day.

the coloration sounds normal, although a pic would help. if he is darker except on his forehead ( near nasal barbels), that is an inidcation that he is being well taken care of, and that he is happy.

Don't worry. I didn't take it in a harsh way, although I was trying to help I understand what RTR is telling me. I did include that it could be fed once a day but I did not really make myself seem sure (which I wasn't).
