GSPs in a 40 breeder

Hi all,
came back from NJ’s AQUASHELLA with two baby GSPs and very clearly incorrect information in their upkeep - I was told they would be fine in fresh but we all know how that’s a common misconception - but they’re babies so I have time.
My question is - HOW do I go about transitioning my
40 gallon breeder into a brackish set up? I kinda had this planned with planting it full of Val (only salt tolerant plant I’m aware of). And these two babies seem to get along and have their own territory already (they pretty much spit the tank down the middle, so I’m not worried about aggression, yet). They lightly school too which is sweet. They’re very healthy, happy eaters too which is pleasing. I hope to have good luck with them. But, I know I have to have them in brackish eventually! I do not plan on adding any more fish to this set up so these two will be alone.
How does one do this switch?
(Tell me how I almost caved and bought a baby
Mbu… my room mate would have killed me
)
