I'm planning to keep an avocado puffer, but i think my room is too small for a 20-30 gallon tank which is listed as the minimum size for avocados. I'm wondering if i can still keep them in a 15 gallon if i keep their water in tip top condition? (as 50% water changes twice a week + heavily planted). Would it still be healthy for them?

They are very active fish. I'd go with a lurker or ambush predator species.
