Trying to introduce new food for amazon puffers

I've got a 300 liter tank with 5 amazon puffers and for over 3 months I've been feeding them frozen glass worms. They have no problem eating and are very healthy. However I want them to eat more protein and trim their teeth a bit in the process so I bought live meal worms cause I heard they're really good for the fish. They're not at all interested im them even though the worms move a lot while trying to get back to the surface. I tried breaking them up to release some smell into the water but they were more interested in my hand (I usually fed them by holding the frozen food underwater so whenever they see it they all gather around for food). I hope they will just try to bite it eventually but perhaps there are some faster solutions.
Thanks in advance

Update: one of them tried eating it whole but they don't seem to be able to cut the worms with their teeth
