Ich and snails

Need some advice. I have some new tetras in a qt tank for the past week I was going to add to the school I have with my fahaka. Today I found a few of the new fish in my tank have ick. First time in 10+ years of keeping fish I've had to deal with ich. I also found a few spots on some tetras in my main take with my fahaka. Treating both tanks with ich-x. My main concern is I have a 10 gal tank that I'm breading rams horns in for the fahaka. And I believe last week when I did water changes downstairs on the qt tank I accidentally used the same bucket to do a water change with my snail tank. Im worried I could have cross contaminated my snail breeding tank. Not very familiar with ich and if it can live on snails. Not sure what I should do. If it's possible for ich to infect snails I don't want to feed them to my puffer. I've read ich can't live more than 2 weeks without a host. If ich can't infect snails should I just not feed the puffer snails out of that tank for a few weeks? Or should I just scrap the snail tank and start over. I'm not sure what effects ich can have on snails if any. I might be over thinking it but I'd better be safe than sorry. Probably 100+ ramshorn in the 10g , would hate to throw them out. Any suggestions would be great

I would QT the snails for 3 weeks. They can get busy during that time! ;)
