Jewel Puffer - Cloudy Eyes
Posted: Tue Dec 12, 2023 9:46 am
I got this Jewel puffer just over a month ago, and unfortunately it has had cloudy eyes for quite a few weeks now. It's eating and swimming around really well, but the cloudy eyes just won't go. All other livestock are completely fine, eating well, and no-one seems to be bullying it either. Plus, given that it's both eyes, I'm assuming it's likely a bacterial infection.
I've tried PraziPro, as I read that Flukes can cause cloudy eyes, but haven't seen any improvement (I did two doses, 1 week apart, although I must add, the bottle I had is out of date by 6 months - maybe it's no longer effective? Or it's just not the correct medication for the issue!)
Can anyone suggest what's the most effective treatment for this in the UK? The likes of Kanaplex and Erythromycin aren't easily obtainable here, although I have ordered some from the states (unlikely to arrive this side of Christmas I think!)

3) Feeding, water change schedule and a list of all products you are using or have added to the tank: Fed once a day, using a variety of marine-based foods, like Krill Shrimp, Brine Shrimp with Garlic and Omega 3, Mussels, white Clams. 15% water change once per week. Using Chemipure Blue in the tank.
4) What changes you've made in the tank in the last week or so: None
5) How long the aquarium has been set up, and how did you cycle it? 9 months: Cycled using Fritzzyme turbostart 900
