Hi all,

My Fahaka has this on the top of his mouth, and I don't ever recall seeing it. From what I can see it goes all the way across. I dont think his beak is supposed to look like that?

I am not sure if this is a growth, bacteria or something else. He is eating shrimp, but he doesn't like to eat hard things, which I've been trying to give him clams, he used to love them. My GH is pretty high, which I'm now realizing I have to fix (180ppm) and my nitrates are at 80ppm, he is due for a waterchange today. Ph is 6, ammonia is at 0, and nitrites are 0, temp is at 79f.

Please help me help my scooter

Is that the pH of your tap water? Tank size, WC schedule?
I can't really tell what that is in his mouth. Are there teeth?

The PH of the tank is 6, and my GH is actually within range, I read the measurements wrong. I have a 75 gallon tank. And right now, I can't see his teeth

pH of 6 is VERY low, similar to urine! What is the pH of your tap water? Please answer my other 2 questions. It is possible your puffer's teeth have broken off & they may grow back.
