40 gallon salt water and GSP?

Hi. don't worry, I don't have one yet, but I would like to get one. I have been reading that the GSP can go into a full salt water tank. I just set one up and have 4 damsels in. (that will be going back to the fish store for credit if I can catch them in a month or so) I really want a puffer. The ones I was jonesing for I don't think I can have unless I get a bigger tank. (I am almost ready to see if my fish store will let me trade in the 40, but breaking it down sounds like a major pain) Could I eventually put a green spotted puffer in? Maybe two? Could I have anything else in the tank?

A single GSP can go full SW into a 40-gallon tank.
There are better ways to cycle a tank than fish.
As for tank mates, maybe a feisty basslet, but you're pushing it in a 40, IMO.

Yes.. I have been reading that I could have cycled the tank with the live rock...
wow only 2 fish for 40 gallons? Lol. everytime I get a bigger tank, I find out I needed a bigger tank!. Thanks for the reply.

It's not as simple as '2 fish in a 40-gallon'. An adult GSP needs a bare minimum of 30-gallons to themselves at maturuty. They get 6" long, and VERY thick.

(sigh) sometimes I wish I had never seen the cute little buggers! This is going to cost me a fortune... hmmm anyone have a 60 gallon tank they are not using in CA?
