Got gifted a puffer

Post by grayce »

Hi all, new to this forum so forgive me if this isn't the right place to post this.

Today my friend gave me a puffer... why? Because it's cute, they said. Absolutely crazy, but luckily I had a cycled 10 gallon free.

Quick research tells me that he is a leopard puffer. Could anyone confirm this? He is just over an inch in size. If he is indeed a leopard puffer, how would I take care of him?

Thank you!

Yes, your ID is correct. Is he in a tank with other fish?

No it is just him. I've ordered him a bigger tank and some marine salt, anything else I need to know?

Yes I read them! By cycled I mean it is established, the params are 0/0/10ppm and the tank I've ordered is 30 gallons. At the moment I have bloodworms and plenty of feeder snails, does this sound good enough for him?
