Is dried shrimp with shell enough to trim GSP teeth?

Post by EughPuffer »

Hi! I'm new to puffer fish care and i have a GSP. I know you need to trim their teeth using hard foods like clams, cockles and mussels. But can't even afford those for myself let alone my fishes haha. I found some dried shrimps/krill that is supposed to be arowana, flowerhorn...etc food being sold online. The shrimp/krill is not unshelled. I was wondering is this type of food enough to keep their teeth in check?

I heard that Malaysian Trumpet Snail are one of the best foods for pufferfish but I can't seem to find them even thought I live in Malaysia!

Thanks for your help! :)

If unshelled, it will not help your puffer's teeth. Bladder snails are the best. MTS are too hard & will break a puffer's teeth.

Forgive me, I meant to say it's not unshelled*, meaning the shell of the shrimp is still intact. Will this shrimp be enough to trim the teeth?

It should be helpful but might not be enough.
