I have been cycling my fish tank and growing plants in it for a while, it's 75 litres and I was going to get some pea puffers in it, however when I went to a maidenhead aquatics they said i could put figure 8 puffers in there instead and told me they would be fine in a freshwater 75 litre tank, however when I got home I did more research on them and many people are saying you need a lot more room per puffer, should i take them back and get the pea puffers instead or will they be ok in my tank?
Thanks

WOW, I would have thought Maidenhead would offer better advice than that! If you want those plants to live, you'd be much better with FW DPs.

Did you read that article? They prefer to be in groups of 6 or more.

Re: Figure 8 puffers
I’m not sure if this is the best place to ask this but I was wondering if I wanted to get some figure 8 puffers what would be the best substrate, decorations and stuff like that. I have 3 GSPs and a Northern Puffer and I typically just find them a clam in the Northern Puffers tank, crack it open, and then feed it to them on the shell. I was planning on doing that again but would it be better to feed them snails? If yes how would I breed them/which ones would I get. Lastly I was wondering about tankmates. Do they prefer a community tank or species only. I saw that Bumblebee Goby’s are good tankmates with them what else would be good with them if it is better with a community tank?
