I got up this Morning and Scar was gone too! I looked at him and he has WHITE HAIR on him its all over !!!! Any one know what that is? I looked over Mufassa and Scar there are no Ich spots there body's look in good shape. But they have white hair!
I'm really freaked out they were so healthy and happy water is good what happened?!
To top it off the Lawnmower Blenny passed tonight too same thing on him some sort of white hairy thing on him.
What do I do to my tank now? I'm not even sure I want to get another fish but if i do decide to what should be done now? I feel sick over this entire thing. thanks to you all this is an awesome site,
Thanks

Definately some kind of fungus. Are you sure your water parameters are good?

i did a water test the day I lost Mufassa.
Ammo 0
Nit 0
Nitrate minimal to zero
Ph 8.2
Alk 1.7-2.8 normal
SG 1.023

Tonights water readings are higher then Wed but a lot has happened since then too
Ammo .25
nitrite .005
Nitrate 10 Thats higher then it was weds night
Ph 8.2
Alk 1.7-2.8 normal
Sg 1.023

I dont know where the fungus could have come from. What do I do now?
Thanks PP

If it really is cynobacteria, it is a product of optimum conditions (for the bacteria that is, not your tank inhabitants), meaning too much disolved organics, too much debris in the substrate, not enough water current, and too much light.

There are medications you can use to knock it out, but if the conditions don't improve, it will just keep coming back.

Unless you have a deep sand bed, I'd start by doing some serious vaccuuming and water changes. And maybe dd a powerhead for increased flow.

Cyano looks nothing like white hair though.

Do you have LR in your tank.. anything growing on it... or they maybe something hiding in your LR causing the trouble if you got some LR in your tank..

I have LR in my tank its about 25-30 lbs give or take. I just noticed that I have one polup thingy, its clear with annenomnee tenticles. I have brown and green algae nothing esle. Its been in the tank for 60 days and thats about all I have seen on it. The other item I have seen in the tank besides white hairy stuff on both my fish are pods on the glass. adn these weierd circle with a dark white spot in the center they hang out on the glass. On the out side of the circle are clearish tenticles.
I have good water movement, power head, 3 bubble stones, skimmer and 2 fliters on the tank makes a light current in the tank.
If its a bad fungus I have added Pimafix to the tank lowered the temp, shortened the light cycle and upped the SG for now.
thats about it.
