Hello, I’m new here. I’m not new to to saltwater fish but I’ve never had a puffer. My 150 sat empty for about 3 years after some long lived beloved fin friends passed. I’m restarting it. I’ve wanted a dogfaced puffer so much! (Well any puffer!)
My husband and I went to the Lfs to pick up a few chromis, food, and look around. My husband saw a triangulated trigger and really wanted it. I ordered a dogfaced puffer.
We came home with the triangulated trigger.
Please tell me I’ll be able to get my dogfaced puffer! The lfs said no problem but I know they will tell you anything.
I don’t know anything about triangulated triggers.
I did emphatically say no when hubby pointed to the clown trigger,
Oh the triangulated trigger is very small, less than 3 inches. I ordered a similarly sized dogfaced.

While Picasso triggerfish are not nearly as aggressive as some other triggerfish (Undulate and Queen triggerfish), they are still an aggressive carnivore that should only be kept with other large aggressive fish species.

Thank you, I found some more info on them. They are also called a reef trigger. Evidently they are pretty territorial. No puffer for me

I wrote triangulated trigger and meant rectangular.

I looked it up & found the Picasso trigger. Am I correct?

They are similar. The rectangulus trigger is also know as the reef trigger. It is aggressive too.
