Question: I recently purchased a figure 8 puffer who is about 3/4th of an inch. When I got him he seemed very vibrant and healthy however since he has been put into his tank I noticed a dark mark on his chin(sorta grayish purple in color) Today I also noticed a small amount of darker coloring where his tummy meets his right side. Additionally today he pooped and it was a dark color but has a singular string in it (dont know if that is relevant). He is eating like crazy still and not displaying any lethargic behavior. Was wondering if I should be worried about the little dude. Thank you!!

1) ph:8 ammonia:0 nitrite:0 nitrate: less than 25 salinity: 1.006

2) 28 gallon. Tofu the figure 8 puffer is the only inhabitant. Singular Java fern holding on for dear life and 6 moss balls

3) Feed twice a day bloodworms and twice a week bladder snails. Every week I drop some snails in more hidden spots so he can hunt them. Every week 25% water change (tank is extremely over filtered with a sponge filter and a 200 biowheel)

4) Haven't changed anything since he has come to me :)

5) Aquarium has been up and running since may of 2020. Did a fish in cycle with two mollies my sister bought without knowing anything about. All level have risen and dropped and have not since risen again.

Welcome! Really difficult to tell anything without a pic. You're going to have to upload to a photo sharing site & link it here.

It really doesn't look harmful or anything. Maybe a bruise? He looks well-fed!
