I am getting my fahaka in a couple weeks. I have a 180 with large sump for its permanent home with a 20 gallon long quarantine tank currently setup and waiting for the fahaka to arrive. I have all of my tanks setup and cycled just waiting for the fish. I have a series of meds available but I am thinking of doing a round of general cure with IchX first then a two week rest/fatten up period followed by maybe a prazipro round or second general cure round?

What has everyone else done. I realize i will be spending more money in meds then the fish, but i want the long term health of the fish to be primary. That is why i have about a 1500-1800$ tank setup for one fish....I wish i could afford/had the space for a Mbu but I dont.

Thanks for your help.

Once you get it adjusted & eating well, I'd soak its food in Prazi or Metro for 3 days worth of feedings. Or you could just wait for signs of IPs. My new guy never had them.
