Water Param: PH 7, Nitrite 0, Ammonia 0, Nitrate 20
Tank Sie: 55g
Inhabitants: 2 Schouts, 5 cardinal tetras, 2 starlight bristlenose, 5 golden laser cories, cherry shrimp
Filter: Fluval FX4
Water Change: 40-50% every 2 weeks, water change done tonight
Feed: Bloodworm, Brine shrimp, Shrimp, Snails, etc with Algae wafers for bristle and cories. Started to feed puffs every other day as over a year old.
Changes last week or so: none
Aquarium set up: Since November 2017. Fishless cycle.

Had my schouts over a year now and been healthy up to this point. One has always been chubbier than the other however he has a bulge.
Noticed this couple of nights back, so have not fed since. Did see him poop normal poops. However the bulge hasn't gone and on inspection today his anus is a large opening (doesn't look as though prolapsed or if it is possibly the start).

All other inhabitants are fine, last mishap was 2 months ago when the last guppy passed away.

Hoping the images up loaded

Does he seem constipated? You could just go ahead & treat with 5tbsp Epsom salt.

Unsure if it is constipation - he is the pig out the two.

I'm thinking either: gulped air somehow / internal infection causing bloating / prolapsed anus / consitpation (narrowed that down nicely...)

Have some immune boosting treatments, which added with fresh water change. Gained some Epsom salt today, so will put the 5tbsp in now and see how we go.

Thank you for advice.

I did indeed at the dosage recommended. It took two days but so so happy it was something he ate (the silly puffball).

May i ask what kind of immune boosting treatments you have used? One of my schout seems to have the same issues, apart from the open anus.
