Knight/Dancer Goby with a Figure 8

Now that I've moved Hoover the figure 8 to a 20 gallon long tank (which he seems to love), I've noticed these cute gobies at the LFS. They're knight/dancer gobies, but I know nothing about them. I googled them, but didn't find any nice articles about them. If you know of one, feel free to post a link!
Anyone know what SG they like? Are singletons OK? Would one be OK with a figure 8 in a 20 long? Are they as messy and would they create the same bioload as another figure 8? What do they eat (I've heard gobies can be picky)?
I don't want to have to change tank water mid-week...so the figure 8 alone is fine, but those gobies sure are cute!
Thanks,
Eric

BKG are skittish fish that lives in med brac water (I believe). I have three with my fig 8 and they are fairly easy to take care of. Feeding wise, the gobies would steal the food from the puffers mouth. Puffers learned to eat fast or swim fast with the food.
they are great bottom cleaner and would eat all the scraps. For some reason mine does not like krill...maybe its too big...i see them chasing the krill and then lettin go.
I say go for it and grab at leas a pair...i think they do better in groups rather than singleton...but nor sure...for some reason i think that i read it somewhere.

Nice pictures. So what sized tank do you have them in? And, if they don't like krill, what are they eating? I'd be surprised if they're crunching snails...

They are with the fig 8s. They eat everything else. Bloodworms...flakes...shrimps...they actually eat krill, but i think the whole krill is too big so the puffs chomps on the krill and the BKG eats the bits and pieces...
When i feed clams or shrimps, the BKG will steal it from the puffs.

fatpuffer - I don't think I know what size tank the Figures 8s and Gobies are in? I'm just curious because I'm really into only one water change per week, and I wouldn't want them overburdening the 20 long.
Thanks,
Eric

In a 20 long...I would go with one F8 and a handful of BKG. That way would not burden ur filtration and 50 percent once per weeks should suffice.

p.s. that one is in 20 g as well.

Have you tried a search using the scientific name, Stigmatogobius sadanundio?
Richard Mleczko has a good Gobie website but it does not have specific info about Knight Gobies…
http://members.ozemail.com.au/~thebobo/goby.htm#menu
I have two Knight Gobies in a 30gL with three F8s. The Gobies have permanent fin damage from relentless Puffer attacks…
