Sick Dwarf Puffer

I have a sick Dwarf puffer he has a cloudy eye. I got Melafix and it says to treat forn7 days but to remove carbon filter. Do I keep it removed for the entire 7 days or just while I treat? Thanks for any advice!

If your treating for 7 days, keep the carbon out for 7 days. You really don't need any carbon for a FW tank anyway.

water parameters?
tank size?
water change schedule?
other inhabitants in tank?
food & schedule?
environmental factors can cause problems such as this.
treating with chemicals or drugs might be like putting a Band-Aid on a hemmorage, if there are underlying environmental problems.
