Deworming not working

Hi all,

I've read the articles in the library etc. I have tried de-worming with metro+ and prazipro and neither will work.

I have tried soaking for a long time (40 mins) and for only a few mins, but the fish just wont eat the food if its been soaked! They eat fine if there's no medication.

What can I do? tempted to just do the 'bath' option of pouring the recommended dose of prazi pro into the tank??

Thanks

If your fish is FW, adding meds to the tank will not have any affect on internal parasites, as FW fish do not drink water.

I'm sure you already tried this, but maybe soaking the food in garlic guard or similar in addition to the medication will help with palatability? Levamisole is also an excellent deworming option.

There are a few places online that sell Levamisole. I got mine for cheap from Greg Sage at Select Aquatics. I'm not sure if he ships overseas.

Yes, some worms are only killed off with certain meds. Try all different ones you can get your hands on. Too bad Discomed isn't available anymore.

This is an article in the library that might help with ideas to tackle palatability issues as well as ideas for other meds: library/hospital/viiii-annabelles-diary ... /#more-169
