Hi there, can one single dwarf puffer live healthy in a 3g tank? If yes, It is a problem for him living alone?

5g minimum. Yes, they can live alone but do like the company of other DPs.

I don't know... I feel like it would be fine with enough live plants and sufficient biological filtration.

3G is 12l, i think, so about 30*20*20cm. It is small, but if well planted it may work. More than the puffer being cramped, I have doubts about keeping such a small tank stable: it will not be so easy, even if you select easy plants. If you try it, I would suggest to be sure that the tank is both well planted and plants are growing with an established root system before you introduce the puffer. Take advise on the net on how to achieve that (low tech? high tech?) if you are new to planted tanks. This should help a lot, both for water quality and stability, but also for having enough jungle effect in there to keep the puffer "entertained". I doubt 3G (30*20*20) or 5G(35*20*30) would make much difference for swimming/exploration; plant arrangement/density and tank actual geometry will be more important. However, stability-wise, the 5G tank will probably be notably easier. Do you have the tank already? cause 5G and 3G will not be priced very differently, and should both fit in your interior.
