I've read that they tolerate there are kind if they are kept in a big tank, any idea what the minimum sized tank would be for two? How active are these puffers?

Not very active at all. I'd go with a 55g for 2, with separate caves on opposite ends..

Would it be ok to buy one puffer first and then add another later? Its just they are expensive fish and i would rather have my puffer sooner rather than later. Why does my comments need approving? No other forum i use does this, is there a way to change this?

Until you have a few posts here, they all need to be approved, as we have had a lot of issues with spammers.

I think it is best to introduce these fish at the same time, so they cannot establish territories. Otherwise, you will have to re-scape the entire tank. Even then, there is a chance they may not get along.

Welcome and +1 on pp!
Yeah the best way is to put them both at the exact same time into a newly changed up aquarium! That is how I'm going to introduce my Ceylon and gsp for their 55 in a month or so. Had to slowly get the Ceylon to salt, but luckily he's in the 55 and it will look totally different once I clean it for saltwater additions lol. Freshwater gravel in it now and it would look so ugly with coral sand!

You're going to need at least a 90g for all 3, 120g would be better.

At 1 point I did think 55g was OK for 2, until I had my 2 Nerf-sized GSPs in a 55g with 75lbs of live rock. There was barely enough room for them to swim in there.

I plan on cultivating some snails in the tank before adding the puffers, just wondering what snails would they eat? Since these puffers get fairly big would they eat mts, ramshorn or the common snail because they are all pretty small.

Snails the size of their eye are recommended. Pond snails will do well. I suggest using a separate container to cultivate them in. library/feeding/basic-snail-breeding/

Good idea, yeah I'll get started on that and brain storming. I'm not sure what the problem is but when I read articles In the library like the three suvatti and a palembang the pictures don't show up which is a real shame because it involves the puffer i would want. If it helps I'm using a kindle fire hd 8.

When the board here got an upgrade, we lost our Pufferpedia (my pride & joy! :( ) & all the photos in our Library.
