Hi all
Just wondering what people think about feeding wild caught river shrimp,snails and other small crustaceans.
I am asking as I live very close to a river which is full of them and was thinking they would make good food for my puffers.
Please share any problems ,benefits or experience on the subject

If the water has any kinds of pollutants or pesticides, they might end up in the feeders. Even if they aren't affecting the feeders, they will build up in the puffer over time. This is, of course, a non-issue if you know the river is clean.

Or parasites.

as if there is such a thing

I would give it a miss because the wildlife in Britain's waterways are struggling. Why not dig a decent sized wildlife pond instead and seed it with snails and any other little critters you want in there?
