1) 8.3, 0, 0, 5, FW
2) 180 gallons, 1 fahaka puffer around 2 inches long
3) small meals multiple times a day, Wc 30% weekly. Treated with food soaked in levimasole HCL, a couple days ago and three weeks ago. Added melafix today
4) none
5) fishless cycled around 10 months ago

Looks like my fahaka has a cut/ wound along her body. Shes been very shy, less active and hasnt eaten since I noticed this - which was a coupe hours ago. Its hard to get a good look (or a good picture) but it looks like a cut that does not go too deep, as i cant see any organs or blood, etc, although I imagine puffers have very thick skin especially in their stomach area. Ive added melafix and will do a water change tomorrow... what do you all think?

Doesn't look bad but how do you think it happened? Sure it's not a heater burn? Yes, they have VERY thick skin. I can attest to that, when trying to do necropsy on them!

There is no heater in the tank, it's in the sump. There is driftwood in the tank, it.could have been from that. All the rocks in there are pretty rounded.

Best thing to do is keep the water clean? Melafix and pimafix?

Pimafix is for fungal issues. Driftwood wouldn't do that.

She did not make it....

I tried to do a necropsy on her, but at 1 3/4" it was hard.
There was no visible wound but part of her ventral area was darker with a red squiggle within it. When I opened her up it was hard to see defined organs. It looked like everything was mush. She could have been dead for over 12 hours....
I did not think to take any pictures and regret it.
