Sitting at work, stinking of swamp & mire.
Moved 5 freshwater tanks into my new (single-guy) apartment yesterday, 3 more (2 fresh & 1 brackish) is still in my old house, but they will simply have to wait...

My LFS lent me buckets and crates, thanx guys!.
Thank goodness Im a pufferaholic with mainly singleton tanks.
Cathing the fish was the least of the moving process.

Ok, why is this tale in the DIY-section, you ask?
The reason is my DIY 4 X 45 gallons stand.
The framework was built bit over a year ago, but completion was abandoned due to problems at the homebase.
As for now; my lance is free, and the stand will be completed!!!

My friend Kenneth is a carpenter and he helped me with moving tanks and rigging down the stand.
Nice guy as he is, he offered to help me out with completing the stand.
Said he and a friend had been thinking about going into customizing aquariums for years now, and that my project(s) would be a good place to start.
We loves it!

The surface of the stand will be made of beech. The length 215 cm long, height 220 cm and depth 50 cm.
Each of the 4 tanks will have T5 lights, JBL 250 outboard filters, Fluval 3+ inboard filters and polymer heaters.

I will be putting the framework back together in a couple of days.
Will post pictures.

Stage 1:

The dismantled stand can be seen in the background.
It's constructed entirely of 2"-6" impregnated wood, thus not being subject to waterdamage followed by catastrophic disintegration.
It's built to support around a 1000 kg.
I do not build pretty, I build to last...

Dang-it! The title of the thread made me think about flying up to get some of the Puffs you didn't have room for! Alas! Good luck with it.

Put together the frame last Friday.
My kids was coming for the weekend and 3 of my tanks was on the floor.
A 2 year old does not mix well with a reachable Fahaka tank.

Much cursing and sweating accured during the building process.
Temporary aquascaping done.

I'm breaking down my 90 gallon planted community tank this week.
The plants will be relocated in various other tanks.
My Fahaka is housed in a 40 gallon, but will get a 90 gallon all to herself in a couple of weeks.
I'm buying a new tank for my GSP, so my last 40 gallon will be converted from brackish to fresh.

My bestiarium will be completed soon.
I am planning a tropical garden in the living room.
Loads of green plants, sound of living crickets etc.
Gonna be grand!

Those tanks look really great with the silver outline. Might consider DIY-ing some onto my otherwise normal tanks.

Last tank went down today.
My 90 gallon built-in.
Gave the tank away to a monsterfishkeeper.
It will be the home of a bunch of Synodontis.

Trading in the community fish for a s***load of snails.
Kept the irrubescos, roots and the plants.
Lots of fry in the tank, Ancistrus and Platy.
Broke my heart to rip the tank out of the wall.

My other 90 gallon needs some repair.
Silicone time tomorrow.
Will build a new light-top for it next weekend, T5 tubes in the house.
Hopefully my Fahaka will enjoy a larger and nicely decorated tank.
