Hello and Worried about my puffer

Hi, I have had a dog faced puffer now for about a week. He is about 4 to 5 inches big. When I first got him, he swam all over, greeted me at the glass. The last few days all he does is hid in the rocks. He does come out to eat, but goes back to hiding. I think he looks darker too. Is there something wrong with him? Do I need to be worried?
I live in the United States, and have had a saltwater tank now for 5 years. Nice to meet fellow puffer fans.
