As the base rock is cycled I am adding it to the tank. It's now time to glue some pieces into place. However the 2 gsp attack everything going into the tank. Metal tongs, orniments, the rocks. When my fingers enter the water they are over like lightning and I get my hand out fast. Does anyone else have this problem or solutions. Am thinking of a set of thick neoprene diving gloves I have. Got one finger opened up this weekend by a stressed hamster (the kids) and not keen to experience an experimental nip!

How big are the GSPs?
If they aren't like 6 inches or something, and just wee guys I would just chase them with your hand if they become too feisty. Of course don't actually physically touch/harm them, just sort of bluff to show who's boss. I haven't really had any fish-person aggression from any of the puffers I have kept. Have had it plenty from triggers though, and crikey it gives you a shock when they bite!

I had a 1" Congo bite me.

I've never had a problem with my puffers attacking me but, my clownfish are A-holes. I cant do anything in my tank without them trying to sample my hands.

I use brewing gloved that i have leftover from my beer making days. I mainly use them because i have a lot of palythoa and i'm hyper paranoid about palytoxin (even though i'm not even sure any species i have are toxic). I don't know if they would hold up to a full sized GSP chomp but, they are heavy mil nitrile glove that is elbow length. I find them a little better than neoprene because they can also be sanitized. That said, neoprene offers more bite protection, i'm sure.

I think these are what I bought a few years ago. Just measure your hands or something cause you probably need a size bigger than what you think. I think mine are large even though my hands aren't that big and they almost fit just right.

I just rinse mine with tap water before and after each use.

I went with the bare hand and chase them off method. They are determined little fish! Holding coral rock in place while glueing takes a bit of courage as the inch closer and closer

Omg same my 4 inch red Congo actually bit a small chunk out of my fingernail when I was cleaning his tank and not paying attention, luckily he didn't get my actual hand.

Have been bitten by 1"(yes inch) GSPs at work. Feels like a mild bee sting and does sometimes draw blood. I swat at them when cleaning their tank, but there's always one brave one and the rest will follow it right back to the big piece of meat being offered up to them.
