How long to leave empty

I had an ick outbreak in one of my tanks. I used some of the live rock from that tank to set up a new one. How long should i leave it empty to insure that there will be no chance of the ick surviving?

3 weeks or scrub everything with bleach.

Turning up the temperature makes it less likely for ich to survive. I successfully treated discus and tetras in the past just by increasing tank temp to 30c. The ich can't get to hosts fast enough at that temp and die in the swimming stage.
