I accidently added too much ammonia to my new brackish tank. There are no fish in it yet, and my ammonia is reading 7 - 8 ppm
I tried a 10% water change and nothing went down.

Then do a 50% WC. You need to keep notes on how many drops will raise the ammonia to 5.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Thanks!
What is your view on Tetra SafeStart? I saw that it cycled some peoples tanks overnight. Is this true?

Re: Fishless Cycling Issue
Just did the 50% WC. Went from 8 to 4ppm. I will let it run because I unplugged the filter while I did the WC. When my ammonia levels get lower, I will try Tetra SafeStart to cycle. Many people had success with it

I don't think there I a brackish product available. The bacteria in the safe start freshwater is stable at 1.0 and bio spria is stable at 1.025

Re: Fishless Cycling Issue
I recently used tetra start safe, and it did not work for me. I had read good things about it but the bacteria in the bottle I bought must have died transport, I guess. It was shipped internationally. Anyways, just be aware that it may not work. I personally would only use it to fishless cycle incase you get a dud.

I have only used Safestart when adding a large amount of new fish to an established tank.
