I was thinking the same after looking through the puffer pics yesterday. These guys true fresh or move to marine as adults?

There is a post in the oddball section of waterwolves of two pustulatus. But in my unexperienced eyes, they look more like fahakas.

T. pustulatus has always struck me as exactly the same as a lineatus, except for colouration. Perhaps it's not a separate species but a colour morph, along the same lines of what we see in the T. nigropunctatus family?
Although, I agree - I think the fish linked above most closely resembles an ordinary fahaka. I guess time will tell...

The pictured fish looks like an immature Fahaka to me. T,pustilatus is a real (valid) species even if highly restricted geologically. It is not currently considered a T. lineatus variant.

He was saying that the "pustulatus" were acting agressive towards each other. They were in the same tank, BTW. I always thought pustulatus can live with conspecifics.
Who knows...i want to see pix in a few months!

I don't know if any of you remember but I posted a while back after I returned from a trip to a wholesaler.The guy there was unsure about a tank full of 'pustalatus/lineatus' Although they were only an inch long they looked remarkably like the ones in the picture, only with a few more spots.I believe that they, as the pictures, are young T. lineatus
