Lighting

If anyone is wondering what light to buy for their GSPs I have found the best. After talking to several people and trying several different bulbs the Aqua-Glo is the best (or any light that is around 18,000 kelvin) It has really relaxed my fish and they don't seem so nervous. They also cohabitate better. This light is high on the blue spectrum so it is a bit dimmer which fish like GSPs like. The colors of my fish are spectacular now.

I like 50/50's myself but when it comes to lighting for looks it's all a personal preference

Also lights depend on tanks decor and inhabitants. Might work well on a GSP species tank. I have dual flourescent bulbs that do just fine and the GSPs are too busy begging to care about the lights.

All I know is my little guys have calmed down alot since making the change. When I was a newbie I asked this question and no body gave me a easy to find buld for my tank so I'm trying to help the new guys to find lighting that is cheap and effective.
