Hi All,
Can someone recommend a particular specie(s) of crayfish to feed to a hairy puffer?
He/she is approximately 2.5" right now.
Thanks,

Cheap ones! Although they are not basically crustacean eaters. I'd be concerned the crayfish would pick on your sedentary puffer.

I feed my red congo puffer vampire shrimp once a week. I wouldn't risk anything with claws.

pufferjw - where do you get vampire shrimp cheap enough for feeding!? I can't find any around here for less than $30
I was always told that crayfish can easily have their claws removed, as to not attack.

I wouldn't feel comfortable declawing a cray to feed to my puffer. I had researched breeding marmocreb(sp?) Cray's for feeders. I just don't have the space currently. Wouldn't cost too much to setup and they do breed prolifically. Any that are too big to use as feeders you shouldn't have an issue selling to LFS.

I get vampire shrimp at petco for $20 each. A little expensive, but not too bad.
