Congo Puffer With Blue Acara

Hello, I know that Congo puffers usually can't have tank mates, but I saw a picture online with a Congo puffer living with a larger blue Acara cichlid. Do you think that this could work with my red Congo? I have a manzanita stump, some large zebra stones, a large Anubis, and a lot of floating plants so there are a lot of things to break vision.

the end result of this proposal is likely to be a larger blue Acara cichlid with it's guts pulled out (very cruel - something I wouldn't want to subject anything to) :(
anything might work, but the real answer is your own signature: "I say tankmates, my Congo says mobile sushi."
please don't do it

Alright, thank you. I assumed that the Acara wouldn't work, but no harm in checking. The one on the internet might have been like Pufferpunk's fahaka. Btw, I posted a thread on Pix and Flix titled 20 Congo Puffers Living Together. What's the deal with that?

........won't last long :(
probably in a holding tank for sale/shipping
the business probably accepts the loss of slaughtered fish in lieu of the expense of housing & shipping them separately
that's just one of the dark sides of the wild pet trade :-x

Fahakas are not fish-eaters, like the Congo is. I tried my red Congo with a pleco 3x it's size. Only thing left was a skull the next morning...

To eieio:

That's too bad, but why don't they just put them in dividers and keep the congos in 1 gallon of water each? It wouldn't be good for the fish, but it would be better. And, that would drastically reduce the production cost per unit, since you would double the amount of fish alive at the end and spend so little that your profit would actually increase by around 90 percent, maybe more depending on the quantity of fish. It's the same concept as the chain store betta trade, if you can consistently sell 1000 bettas per month for $10 each and set the production cost per unit to only $3 by keeping them in cheap tupperwares, you make much more money than if you keep them all in a 200 gallon tank and let them kill each other.

To Pufferpunk:

So do fahakas attack other fish for territorial purposes?

I meant, fahaka's diet isn't fish, it's crustaceans. They will kill fish, just because they're a-holes! Except Filbert, of course. ;)

Lol, can you post some pictures of your 180? I really want to see all of the fish together! Also, could you please talk about your new hairy puffer?

I have posted pics of all that on the TPF FB page. I'm having a heck of a time getting photos on a website other than that.
