Should i separate my dwarf puffers from other fish? The whole tank is ill, i have the ich and a fungal infection in it at the same time. (not sure right now maybe even something else) Most of my fish are droping dead one by one. I do not own another heater. And i really dont want to loose my puffers. pls help. I can only offer them another container with a second filter. Should i do it or should i leave them in the tank with the rest and the medication? They seem verry stressed and look at me worried. Almost every half an hour i loose one fish......
(my tank is 400L i have plecos, tetras, golden barbs and some alge eaters, pair of african cichlids and pair of convicts, used to have other chichlids but now their gone...) i m trying to fight this illnes for over 3 days, but no medicin seems to help. fish dont even float, they slowly loosing their control over bodies and then fall on the bottom.. i can not watch this anymore pls somebody help.... i had 30 fish.. and i just wish 3 would survive. (my little puffers) is there any chance to save them ? pls pls pls

Please answer ALL the questions above in red.
Ich meds are very likely to kill your puffers/plecos.

If it's not too late, you should separate your DPs from the tank. As long as you go buy a heater quickly, the DPs can survive in colder water for a short amount of time. Like Pufferpunk said, once the puffers are in a separate tank you can treat them with warm water. By the way, fish never float at the top when they die.

IM SORRY I PANICKED, before i got an answer i alreadly put my puffers, a pair of african chichlids, a pair of gourami, two small water snakes (6cm) and a golden algae eater in the other tank, i have them now with a seperate filter and 2 plants. The puffers look a bit better but are very dark colored, all 3 are swimming together and hiding in the plant, the males tail is very curled. These are the only survivors from 30+ fish.
I have just returned from the store and added a small dose of JBL Acclimol to calm them down. This seemed to work. The fish swim into it happily and are exhibiting less nervousness. After 30mins I also added two teaspoons of JBL Ektocristal salt, the fish didnt seem affected by this however the snake started moving erratically.
1) Water test from old infected tank: on test everything in "normal" range except KH (i am told the water here is always this hard):
pH: 6.8
KH: 13°d
GH: >14°d
NO2: 0 - in green
CI2: 0,2
2) Water test from "Treatment Tank" - The water was all new but I have added a JBL filterstart packet to the filter
pH: 7
KH: 13°d
GH: >14°d
NO2: 0 - in green
CI2: 2
BACKGROUND INFO CONCERNING THE PREVIOUS TANK WHERE THE OUTBREAK HAPPENED.
Before moving the survivors to the second tank, we had used JBL Punktol on a half dose as advised in the instructions starting 5 days ago. The tank was fully cycled and we had a utopian community for over a year. Water was changed 50% before each dose and the temperature raised by 2 degrees celsius to 29C. On day one and two it looked as if things were getting better, on day three individual fish started dying and some of them got fungal infections of their eyes and gills. I added a few drops of eSHa 2000 Ethacridinlactat and Copper based fungicide but this did not help, by the next day, the ICH was spreading and the other infection too. All the fish started hanging around the filter, surface and thermometer, stopped eating and then started dying one by one. When my figure8 puffer disintegrated before my eyes I decided to start emergency measures to save whoever I could and set up the treatment tank as described above.
Unfortunately, "Treatment Tank" is actually a nice way of saying that they are now in my bathtub with a thermometer and two filters....They are pretty weirded out cause its all white but I have boiled and put a few decorations in their and they are hiding in between the plastic plants. I was desperate to save anyone and this was the only other large volumed container I could put them in in a hurry.
I would love to save whoever I can. I would extremely appreciate any help or tips about how to keep these brave survivors alive and possibly how to make the old tank fit for the return of any surviving fish in as short a time as possible to reduce their stress.
Thanks a million!
