I have a 20 gallon long that I have three dwarf puffers in. And an Otto cat and a loach that looks like an eel hidden somewhere.

I have a sand substraite, and its lightly planted with some dwarf sward, and rocks.

I'm wondering what you all think I should do to decorate it a bit more,

Also what other types of puffer (preferably bigger one) could I put and get along with my dwarf puffers.

Any information or ideas would be helpful,

Only dps with dps I'd suggest at least 2 more loaches, then you'll see them more I have 3 eel loaches and 3 kuhlis that group together and I see them a lot

DPs ate my kulis.

Sometimes I see my eel loach sticking his head out of the sand. Very cute lol.

Next time I see some of them at the store I'm going to pick a couple up.

How do milaysan trumpet snails hold up with the puffers? Will they last, or will my puffers kill em off?

My DPs would slurp them out of their shells when they had the chance. Any MTS that would venture out of the sand would get demolished.

That said, MTS are considered a nuisance snail for a reason. Nothing will eradicate them. Not even DPs.

Do you recomend another loach then?

I have been told with a sand bottom you need fish that will stir up the sand so you don't get pockets of bacteria,

Everywhere I look I find diffrent answers, some people sware by
Trumpets for what I need, and some people hate them

We have Malaysian Trumpet snails in our 20 gallon DP tank and they do a good job of aerating the substrate. Our puffers will eat the odd one, but we rarely find MTS shells so most survive and breed. We feed our DPs pond snails from our separate community tank.

Additional loaches may depend on your puffers' personalities. As PufferPunk said, some DPs will attack fish like loaches. If your tank is well planted then you can probably add more loaches or fast moving fish and things will be fine. DPs do nip at fish that invade their personal space, so watch for the condition of new additions to see if they are being picked on.

Kuli loaches look too much lime their worm food, for me to house them together.

Keep in mind some loaches eat snails as well. If you're looking for something to airate the substrate MTS work great but breed very fast. My red-eye puffer loves them and I have a video somewhere of my DPs eating adult mts. At this point my puffer has access to pond snails, mystery snails, ramshorn snails and mts - do you think they taste different? He seems to prefer the pond snails over any others.

I cant find any MTS anywhere! I called all the stores in town and just cant find them.

The other option is to get them mailed to me, but its winter, and i think they might die in transit

I have lots of them but I don't know how much shipping would be

I'm not sure. I think there should be some way of figuring out the price.

But I'm not sure if they would get here alive, it's pretty cold rig now
