Please describe the proper way to introduce puffers (drip method, floating bag, etc.) to the tank in as much detail as possible including acclimating them to the water and getting them from the bag to the tank (as you can't use a net, what do you use?). Thanks

What type of puffer are you trying to introduce and into what tank? My methods vary from fresh to brackish and salt. For fresh water I temp acclimate be floating with the lights off then introduce. For brackish and salt I drip for a minimum of four hours.

I use a Drs. Foster & Smith Acclimation Kit. I pour the fish and water into a bowl and do the acclimation in the bowl. When the bowl gets full, I gently pour out some water. Eventually, the bowl will be full of mostly tank water if you do this enough. Once you are satisfied you have all the petstore water out and an acclimated puffer, pour the little fellow in. Try your hardest to make sure the puffer never touches the air.

The one as my avatar spent minimum of 4 hours on the carpet when he decided to take a stroll outside of the tank. Ever since I've been a little more lax with my procedures.

What do you use to catch them and move between bucket and tank as a net can't be used?

I use a beta bowl. Either luring them in with food or chasing them into it with a net if they are being difficult.
