The Puffer Forum

After having dp's then a f8, at the time I decided to leave puffers for a while and since had shrimp and then (now) have alto lamprologus comps and multis. I'd like to get rid of the cichlids and get a puffer or two again, I'm limited on space and don't want to mess with brackish water again. So i've been looking at saps the tank is 64litre would I be able to put two in there or just a single one? I've been told they should be kept in groups but is that definitive or would two or even a solo one be alright?

If you want healthy puffers, you'll keep them as suggested, which is less stress on them. How about one of the lurking species?

Oh definitely, if they are'nt healthy and happy theres not much point in having them. I like the lurkers but i'd like something active and engaging the way my old f8 was. After thinking on it, I think i'll have to go brackish, I figure once the specific gravity is slowly adjusted to the right sg after a month or so, I'll just be mixing the same thing week after week, which shouldn't be as hard as I originally thought, I guess I came to the conclusion if I want something nice I've gotta put a little extra effort into it.
