Hi there,
I have been doing my due diligence and researching the daylights out of puffers. i thought i had more time as my lfs told me it would take a few months to get dip's in.... its been 2 weeks and they're here. I've just started setting up a new 20g tank (had water in it with driftwood, rocks and a bunch of live plants for 2 weeks now) no potted plants. no fish.
There were some other posts here that seems to elude that Tetra safestart can cycle the tank in a few hours???
is this possible. I can do water tests twice a day to keep an eye on the levels for the first few weeks. If my levels do become toxic between tests would my dip's die if exposed for a max of 12 hours?
My lfs seems to think that my puffers will be stressed at the store and they want me to take them home asap. i've paid for them already and am supper excited to bring them home. I got 4, they are babies still, so not sure what ratio of m-f i'm getting... oh and they've been at the store for 2 days now.
oh and another question what food is best for these little guys when they're young and so small. I'm setting up a breeding tank for snails and i can get a bunch of itty-bitty snails from lfs but i want to make sure they're eating. Do you reccomend feeding every day while young and every other day when adult size?
side question... should i be concerned that the lfs thinks they will be stressed at the store?
Thanks in advance! you guys are awesome with all your experience
