sorry, but it's tough for me to get excited about "designer pets"
look at what we've done to dogs and cats through "selective breeding"
some of these animals could not even survive on their own because of the "wonderful features" that have been bred into them

Yeah I'm the same way... Me being happy about the fish is because I first saw them in Louisiana years ago and couldn't get them here. I hate that people still buy and sell those painted and tattooed fish.

All those poor dogs that are bought just to be toted around everywhere...

I was not to fond of fish that are unnatural in color. I find it interesting that Ca had allowed their sale. I know they are very strict on environmental issues.

I do have to admit that after looking at the Glofish site that they offer lesson plans for teachers. I am now thinking of setting up a small tank of natural zebras and some glofish danios. I think it would lead to some interesting conversations.
