I will like to add 5 puffers to my setup. Either figure 8s, green spotted or something similar. Will that be an issues? Which one will be the best fit for my tank?

How many gallons is that? What's the SG?

It is filled to 15in and 6ft in diameter. It is about 300 gallons. The SG is 1.024.

May be i am missing something. What are the pictures of?

I am not sure if calling my set up a vat was suppose to be derogatory. Even a glass tank is a vat, since a vat is a container or tank ment to hold water. My vat is a pool and pond liner. Here is a video of my vat. Since the video I moved about 150 pounds of rock from my old vat (a glass vat) into this vat. With about another 150 pounds in my fuge vat. I run a UV rated for 2,500 gallons, ETSS 2500 skimmer rated for 2,500 gallons, biopellets, algae reactor and has nitrates that don't reach over 20 ppm. My large wet/dry and down draft skimmer keep disolved oxygen levels high. My fish get feed mazuri vitamins, vitachem and selcom soaked foods, whole bodied foods such as conch and live food such as type of killi and pepperment shrimp which breed in my vat fuge. I also have a ton of snails that breed in my fuge vat and my display vat which are kind of becoming a pest. Which is the reason why I got the idea of putting puffers in there.

I ordered 5 GSPs. Any reason why my vat isn't suitable for them.

LOL, this guy is sensitive about his vat! I've often seen folks rising /selling frags in them, so it's not the 1st time I've seen one.
My problem is that you really won't be able to view those fantastic puffs much, as they don't swim on the surface ll tht often, except when there's floating food. You really don't want them sucking air from the surface, either.

Looks like a cool/different set up. Is that a ray in there? Puffers and rays are likely a bad mix.

I can't get vids to work on this comp lately but if there's rays, I definitely wouldn't add puffers. Also, rays need sand--enough to bury themselves in it.

I am a little sensitive about my vat. I hear lots of ignorant comments relating to it. There is sand in the vat. It is black sand. Old eyes have a hard time seeing it. Usually grazers and beaked animals are an issue with rays in smaller vats. Like standard 220 gallon glass vats. If given enough room there is little problems with sharks, rays and grazing animals. I also ordered my new vat today. It will have a 8ft diameter and be 3ft deep.

I disagree with your opinion on puffers being poor choices for pond type vats. Puffers make great pond fish. They are very wide fish that make them great for top down viewing. You can view more of the puffers surface area from a top down view them from a side view. Even if they swim at the bottom I have no problem seeing the bottom of the vat. Puffers have great personalities and when their owners walk in they will most likley come up to them. Plus the yellow color of the green spoted puffer contrasts well with the black sand. Next time I go home I will take a video of the porcupine and New Guena puffers in my dads vat and let me know if you have a hard time seeing them.

You are probably right this won't end well.

If I were a puffer I'd darn sure rather live in a 300 gallon vat than a 29 gallon glass tank.

I quite like the vat, I shall call it a pool though. I have a similar pool with goldfish in, it's a work in progress but it will be changed to a waterfall system etc. please keep a very close eye on the puffers with the rays though.

Yep, I'd call it an indoor pond! My dream is to have an indoor saltwater "pond/pool," big enough for an eel, a porky, and other fish
