Hello all, I have recently purchased 2 GSP for my 29 gallon and dog face for 75 gal marine tank. All 3 have so much personality and come right to the tank when you walk up to it. I just got the dog face just a couple days ago and amazed how fast he is comfortable. if anybody has any advice or tips it is more than welcomed, thanks

Hello Dflo. Welcome to the forum. As far as the GSPs go the bare minimum tank size for a single one with no tankmates is 30 gallons. This is the minimum for a brackish setup if you were moving them to full marine you would need added space for live rock ect. For two you would want at least a 55. There are some great articles in the library here about the GSPs someone may be able to link it for you. For the dogfaced a 150gallon tank or bigger is recommended.

Obviously will be starting to slowly acclimate the GSPs to marine but has anybody had any luck with GSPs and dog face in same tank. By that time will have bigger tank looking at least 200 gallon. Any recommendations?

I would love to go saltwater one day and to be able to get something even bigger than your 75g will be quite awesome. Welcome to the forum and of course... any pics?

Mixing puffers is generally a bad idea. A 200g would suit the dogface perfectly once you allow for displacement.

I have a GSP and a Dogface in the same tank, currently an 80 gallon, and for now they get along really well. If I were to do it long term, I would get AT LEAST an 180, and leave plenty of hiding spaces for both. In my case I intend to move the GSP back into a 55 gallon as soon as I can afford to set-up another reef tank. For now, the puppy like personality of my two make it really fun to watch them in the tank. A 250-300 would be much better for keeping these two species together, and long and wide 72 x 36 x 25 Tall would be ideal.

I kept 2 GSPs in a SW 55g & there wasn't enough room for them.
