The Puffer Forum

Is there such a thing as a reef safe puffer? most of what is in the pufferpedia say unknown. I would want something that stays relatively small like a valentini or the likes.

I've had 50/50 luck with the sharpnosed species, the valentini, being the best so far. Obviously, you can't keep shrimp or clams with them.

Ive been slowly adding corals to my gsp tank. So far out of the 10 or so frags the only thinsg that have become food was a feather duster and a xenia that was in the way of a bristle worm he wanted. Hell take a nip at anything i put in the tank just to test it out. I think it would all vary from puff to puff.

awesome how long have you been adding them for?

Mine like to test everything too. He did a little test bite on my finger the other day :S

2 months or so. Xenias. Zoas. Toadstool Star Polyps. 4 different color mushrooms. All softies so i cant say if he would attack any sps or lps

thanks will wait on a saltwater puffer til my next tank
