Is there a good way of sexing a humpback puffer?

No.
Most puffers cannot be sexed as there are no external differences.
The Carinotetraodon's are the exeption to the rule
Only thing to do is to watch out for eggs.
I've established the sex on my T. baileyi this way.

i wish there was a way to gender a humpback. I'd love to try and breed this species but i'm not sure i'd have much luck keeping more than one per tank as mine will investigate/nibble anything in his tank and i'd hate to have a fight, i could see it getting messy fast.

PS awesome species though :)
